Yay Becky!!

I sure know that a few of you will be watching So you think you can dance tonight. But if you're not-do it anyway. There is a good chance you will see Adam's sister, Becky!
Her ticket to Vegas was taken at the last minute, but she was interviewed a lot with the cameras so you might see her!

She is an amazing little ballerina/irish dancer. Watch for her. We love you

Where's Jakie??

Jake gets into all kinds of stuff these days. Yesterday while I was making dinner, this is where I found him....

You can tell he was caught red-handed by the look on that chubby little face! He is starting to learn the meaning of the word NO.

Little Getaway...

We went to Mesquite with the fam for the weekend to try to get some sun. Although it rained a little bit we still had fun. We went bowling, dirt biking/four-wheeling(found some new trails with lots of bumps-not the scary kind but the kind that bounce you around and you get a little air-my favorite), hung out by the pool, went on lots of walks, and best of all Jake got to cuddle with and show off his new tricks to gramma and grandpa and aunts and uncles!

Some of Jake's new tricks include crawling on all fours (he has the army crawl mastered), clicking his tongue, pulling himself up onto stuff, and biting(not so fun). Notice the lobsided do. I love it. Don't worry, the wind was blowing. It wasn't on purpose.

These ducks think they own the joint. They aren't the least bit scared of humans. I think Austin was pretty scared of them though.

I also felt the need to show my tulips. These are pretty much the only things that live in my yard(besides weeds) because they don't require any maintainence. Anyway, hope everyone had a happy Memorial day weekend!

Food Storage

So this has been the hot topic at our house the past week or so (super exciting people-aren't we?). We used to think we had enough. Lately I have been buying more and more-and we still feel like we need more. Is it just the economy? I am not sure what to get more of-the raw goods(wheat, rice, beans, etc.) or the pre-prepared stuff (soups and canned fruits and veggies)like things that we might normally eat. To be honest, I am not sure all of the raw goods such as wheat would do us much good because I have no idea how to turn whole wheat into bread. Any tips? Recipes? What do you have in your food storage and how do you know when enough is enough???

Baby Hungry

I am not announcing anything. Our kids will be spaced properly. I am just saying that this is one phrase I can now say I completely understand. Especially now that Jake is more like a toddler than my little baby. Since having Jake I have a brand new respect and love for babies. In my mind, they used to be just a lot of endless crying, pooping, slobbering work. But after being a mommy a whole new world of amazement has been opened up to me. I find myself watching other babies in the grocery store and smiling because I can picture Jake trying to move his chubby little fingers and hands that same way or making the same silly little face. This little man sure is great to have around. He never ceases to amaze his mommy and daddy....

It's not of the shop fire. But this one might be more entertaining anyway. This is Jakie's first orange experience while daddy was babysitting.

Ohh no...

I wasn't going write this until I got my video of the event posted with it (I can't get it on youtube-is there a special trick?). I am going to tell the story anyway and maybe someday get the video posted for all to see. So here's the story.....Sunday night while I was taking out my contacts and getting ready for bed, I heard some sirens on our street. Didn't think much of them until about third or fourth ones came blarring in our direction. I went to peek out Jake's window and couldn't tell where they had gone. so I shrugged it off. Not one minute later Adam shreiks up the stairs "Our shop's on fire!" Going down the stairs I could just see more and more orange glare from the window. Yup. The hundred year old shop(Adam's parents own it) we were getting ready to remodel for Adam was definitely on fire. Engulfed in flames is more like it. It was the most terrifying feeling to be so close to such a huge and out of control fire. All I felt like doing was grabbing Jake from his bed and running as fast and as far as I could. It was wierd. We were out there until about 1:30am watching them put it out and rip up what was left of the building to make sure there was no more live ashes. Thankfully, nobody was hurt. The fire marshall is still investigating on how it started. They are thinking arsen because there hasn't been any power or gas hooked to the building for years. We have our ideas on what happened but who knows, so we will keep you posted on what we find out. Here are some of the after shots....
